That in turn is associated with multiple parts that operate in a standardized manner in which interactions change over time. Therefore, uncertainty seems to play an important role in mega project management. However, are the main Bodies of Knowledge (BoKs) enough to help manage the petroleum industry Exploration and Production (E&P) mega projects? This is an exploratory work that aims at pointing out some issues raised and challenges faced by E&P project managers while dealing with such mega projects. It also describes the characteristics of the main BoKs used for E&P project management. The research approach links the issues and challenges with the selected BoKs coverage. A gap analysis explores the extent to which this is sufficient. It seems that the selected BoKs, individually or combined, do not tackle the issues and challenges involved in E&P mega project management.

http://www.Seipub.org/ijams/PaperInfo.aspx?ID=34675International Journal of Advances in Management Sciencehttp://www.Seipub.org/ijams/PaperInfo.aspx?ID=34675
