HosseinibalamY. Dehgha

Abstract Accurate wave prediction and supplement is an important task in determining constructions and management of coastal structures. However, determination of wave characteristics is of particular importance. In the present study, the artificial intelligence methodology of neural networks is used to forecast the waves based on learning the characteristics of observed waves, rather than the use of the wind information. The measurements from a single station at Bushehr, North coast of the Persian Gulf, for the period July 2007 - August 2007 were used to train and to validate the employed neural networks. The results obtained show the feasibility of the neural wave characteristics forecasts for 1 and 2 h in terms of the correlation coefficient (0.78–0.9), root mean square error (.03-.07) and scatter index (0.2–0.4). Therefore, the proposed methodology could be successfully used for site-specific forecasts. It is shown that the data produced with the approach developed in this work have statistical properties very close to the properties of the measurements, thus proving that this approach can be used as a reliable tool for wind wave forecasting in coastal areas, complementary to spectral and numerical wave models.

http://www.seipub.org/ie/PaperInfo.aspx?ID=15553Information Engineeringhttp://www.seipub.org/ie/PaperInfo.aspx?ID=15553QoS-Based Web Services Composition using Water Flow-like Algorithm2014-0
QoS-Based Web Services Composition using Water Flow-like Algorithm

Pages 27-38

Author Mahyar TaheriBabak ShiraziHamed Fazlollahtaba

Abstract Web services composition is one of the most important issues in service oriented architectures. For responding to the majority of complicated business process, it might not have been just a single service, so several services must have been combined to reach a suitable one. Composite service will be generated by combining single web services. Each web service may have different implementations with similar functions, but something making it different from other similar services is the quality of service (QoS). In this study, QoS-based web service composition is considered and an architecture for automated web service composition is proposed. In this architecture, at first users enter their functional and non-functional requirements into the system by user interface, then a water flow-like algorithm (WFA) is developed for optimal composition of web services in order to indulge users requirements in a suitable time. Proposed approach is implemented and evaluated by C# language. The evaluation results have shown that the WFA outperforms Improved GA and simple GA when the number of abstract services is large.

http://www.seipub.org/ie/PaperInfo.aspx?ID=15771Information Engineeringhttp://www.seipub.org/ie/PaperInfo.aspx?ID=15771Modelling and mitigating Software Implementation Project Risks with Proposed Mining Technique2014-0
Modelling and mitigating Software Implementation Project Risks with Proposed Mining Technique

Pages 39-48

Author Abdelrafe ElzamlyBurairah Hussi

Abstract The aim of this paper is to present new mining technique that uses the fuzzy multiple regression analysis modelling techniques to identify the risk management techniques that are effective in reducing the occurrence of each software implementation risks. All of them are only approaches that do not produce the results of high quality as desired by the user. In order to improve the quality of results, combining features seems to be a good idea. In this paper, we address the feature’s combination issue based on three manners: the re-ranking mechanism is employed generally as a relevance feedback tool, the utility concept relies on the images rank and the third method is based on a mathematic formula that conjoins features. The features put under experimentation here are: histogram with 27 fixed bins, the 3 color moments: mean variance and skewness. This paper then answers three questions: firstly, does the combining features which requires more complexity practically improve the results? If yes, how much it can do that. Secondly, which one of the three approaches is the best. And finally which configuration yields the best improvement. The results obtained after experimentations achieved on the Wang database have shown that combining signatures improves surely the results and thus no matter what the manner is considered, the best approach among all tested approaches is the third one of that employs a single formula specifically when considering the Mean-Intersection setting.

http://www.seipub.org/ie/PaperInfo.aspx?ID=18307Information Engineeringhttp://www.seipub.org/ie/PaperInfo.aspx?ID=18307A Study on Spectral Super-resolution of Hyperspectral Imagery based on2014-0
A Study on Spectral Super-resolution of Hyperspectral Imagery based on

Pages 67-71

Author Ying WuSuyu WangYibin Ho

Abstract With the wide application of hyperspectral imagery, the resolution required is higher and higher. Without increasing the equipment cost, a spectral super-resolution method based on redundant dictionary is presented in this paper to improve the spectral resolution of hyperspectral imagery. The redundant dictionary based over-complete signal sparse decomposition theory is applied to the super resolution of hyperspectral imagery. By sparse decomposing of the spectrum curve corresponding to each pixel along the direction of spectral dimension, super-resolution is applied to the complete spectral curve of each pixel, which can ensure the consistency of their spectral characteristics during the process of super-resolution restoration, while the spectral resolution of the hyperspectral imagery is improved effectively.

http://www.seipub.org/ie/PaperInfo.aspx?ID=20132Information Engineeringhttp://www.seipub.org/ie/PaperInfo.aspx?ID=20132LEACH Improvement Based on Ant Colony Optimization and Energy Balance2014-0
LEACH Improvement Based on Ant Colony Optimization and Energy Balance

Pages 72-76

Author Guangxue YangFan ZhaoShouqiang Kan

Abstract As a low-power adaptive hierarchical network protocols for wireless sensor networks, LEACH assumes that all nodes can transmit data with the sink node directly and cluster head nodes transfer the information to the sink node in multi-hop fashion, therefore it is significant for using ant colony optimization algorithm to converge multi-hop path from the cluster head nodes to the sink node. Recently, many researchers have devoted to the study of using data mining on disease diagnosis. Current research shows by emphasizing the adoption of various clustering or classification techniques in cardiac disease diagnosis, one fails to lower the risk of misjudging a case as false negative. Therefore, this research focuses on the combination of multi-objective genetic algorithm and k-means clustering technique in data mining to analyze the data of patients suffering from cardiac disease, hoping to get higher prediction accuracy in the diagnosis and lower the risk of misjudging a case as false negative, the result of which needs to pay a high cost. These two algorithms are combined and named Multi-objective Genetic k-means Clustering Algorithm, termed MOGKCA in this work. The objectives of multi-objective optimization on cardiac disease analysis are: (1) to minimize the inaccuracy of classification (or maximize the prediction accuracy of classification), and (2) to minimize the number of false negativity (or minimize the cost of classification). The data used in this research are from UCI cardiac disease data set, Heart-staglog. From the single objective optimization case, the proposed MOGKCA can effectively elevate the classification rate. In the analysis of the two cases of data sets in their multi-objective optimization, we can get the best Pareto-Front through MOKGCA, which can be provided and help set the best point of analysis.a high cost. The resource allocation problem is formulated by a two-stage optimization programming, which aims at maximizing the total reward of delivered services then minimizing the weight total number of cumulative discontinuity packets over the trip of the train. An equivalent one-stage programming is proposed to resolve the difficulty of multi-stage optimization. The result mixed integer programming (MIP) is NP-hard in general, thus we reformulate it as a sparse〖 l〗_0-minimization problem and then relax it to a linear programming (LP). Guided by the proposed optimization approach, we develop an efficient online resource allocation algorithm for practical systems, where a-priori knowledge of future service arrivals is not available.
